College Readiness Summer Academy

Prepare for Higher Education Success

Set yourself up for success at college in this immersive academy! The College Readiness Summer Academy is designed to guide students through every step of the college journey: from exploration to applications to campus life.

Throughout the week-long program, students will learn insider knowledge on how colleges work, what admissions teams look for, and how to find the right personal and financial fit for your future. The academy also focuses on developing the skills for thriving on campus, from time management and study tips, communicating with professors and staff, and using the university's support resources. By the end of the week, each student will present their personalized College Readiness Plan: a reflection of where they want to go, how they'll get there and how they'll succeed once they arrive.

During this program, students will have the opportunity to:

  • Envision their dream college experience through creative activities to explore academic programs and majors
  • Understand the application process with expert-led workshops and guest speakers from Admissions
  • Learn how to craft standout personal statements and request recommendations
  • Receive advice for their financial future through practical lessons and financial literacy workshops on tuition, budgeting, scholarships and financial aid
  • Develop organization skills for tight application deadlines
  • Gain helpful tips on campus and academic life, including time management and study skills

This academy will empower high school students to feel prepared with a clear roadmap, newfound confidence, and essential tools to turn their college aspirations into a reality.
